1. Psychotherapy for adults
Tracey provides treatment to adults struggling with anxiety, depression and ADHD. Schooled in multiple modalities, most commonly Tracey uses psychodynamic psychotherapy which is (classic talk therapy) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. These two modalities offer clients the ability to dig deeper (psychodynamic psychotherapy) or not (CBT).
Psychodynamic psychotherapy identifies unresolved and unconscious issues that today are inhibiting your progress. “Why do I keep choosing people that …”. Some clients prefer to learn where their issues originated, finding this work very satisfying. Making these connections brings expansive self awareness. You and I work to resolve the original issue. As we do, the years of maladaptive functioning that came from it, they unfold before your eyes and dissipate.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a more structured option. With CBT you identify maladaptive thoughts or behaviors currently causing distress. Examples are “No one is going to accept me.” CBT identifies what is supporting the maladaptive belief. This can include more recent reinforcing comments from peers to values and beliefs you learned early in life. Then learn strategies to decrease and stop these thoughts.
Mindfulness practices are teachings and techniques to bring your mind into the present moment. Negative thinking, spirals of thoughts, and anger about the past are all helped with grounding and connecting to the present. Tracey will teach you how to observe the thoughts distressing you versus being swept away in the title wave of emotion they provoke.
